Pros

401k match, working on rocket stuff

Cons

Poor work life balance. They want you to be dedicated, but they sure are not dedicated to their employees. This unless you play poker with the CEO, then your ok. HR director doesn’t know how to run HR. They don‘t do their due diligence when complaints are filed. They would rather sweep them under the rug. CEO can’t make up his mind. No clear direction. The CEO should be removed and then you’ll see the company actually do something good and be a lot more successful. They waste money on things that don’t matter and don’t help the company be successful. They would rather spend money on carpet and bling for a building than hire talent that will actually help them. How investors are willing to listen to their lies is beyond me. They should dig deep, real deep at the inner workings of the company before they give them money. They loose A LOT of great talent to only keep the low hanging fruit they should get rid of.

Pros

There used to be many but they’ve evaporated.

Cons

This company has a sexual harassment problem. People in this company are too comfortable sexually harassing others with no consequences. This company also has managers who try to sleep with techs. You’d think this immature behavior wouldn’t exist at a rocket company.

Pros

Guaranteed you will be doing things you have never done before. Everyone there is in that boat. This can be good in terms of learning new things, but the flip side is that no one really knows what they are doing nor has the time to work it out. When the schedule is super rushed and things need to be done fast and right, and you have 5 times more things to do than you could possibly do in the given time, it can be a recipe for failure, as there isn't time to do the job well. This creates "no-win" situations. Everyone is winging it, and there are lots of mistakes and oversights as a result (and people being fired). But it may come together and be successful in the end--stranger things have happened.

Cons

All the various cons for this company stem from the insanely unrealistic schedule. They try to do design, development, qualification, infra structure, and training simultaneously in a mad dash to put something in the air. It is definitely an "I'd rather be lucky than smart" environment. The other slogan that is very applicable is " We don't have time to do it right, but we have time to do it over". But to be fair, Firefly isn't the only company in this industry afflicted that way.
