Pros

Cool engineering projects. Do everything in Texas area.

Cons

Bad product. Bad leadership. Poor understanding of industry requirements. Terrible respect for employees. Lack of vision. Not a good place to be a middle career engineer. They want new hires or they show you the door after 1 year. This is not a career friendly company, only a company that needs meat for the grinder.

Pros

You will meet many intelligent and passionate people. Additionally, there is a lot of opportunity to work on different projects and in other departments. It's a great place if you are starting your career.

Cons

The pay raises are not acceptable, and there are hardly any promotions. Senior management does not try to understand the engineering issues after being frequently told about the problems with metrics. Sr. Management needs better technical expertise but will try to make technical decisions or oversimplify problems. Firefly needs to follow its own principles. Firefly is reluctant to change or innovate, and this is due to a desire to rush projects and run on unrealistic, aggressive schedules. They would rather work employees 80 hours a week instead of investing in more resources or taking it a little slower.
