Long hours very low pay

Pros

It's a job. Not a good one, but a job.

Cons

You are expected to give you life to Firestone. Changing oil and tires is more important then your home life. Hours are too long. No weekends. Must work Sundays and nights. It is always getting worse never better. I would not be surprised if they go 24/7 no holidays or time off. Flat rate is lower than normal book time for things like brake work and tires. Their explanation is "its what we do" Take a hit for the team. They always mention teamwork, only problem is I don't have any team helping me make flag hours. They will use you up until your body has no more to give and than want more.

Pros

Rapid advancement opportunities, fantastic base pay, HUGE bonuses (if you are good at your job), willing to take hiring chances for management trainees. Many people consider themselves "lifers". Must be career oriented to work in this company.... not a job to be taken lightly.

Cons

long hours are expected. Rarely get out of work when scheduled. Tough (not impossible) to strike a good work life balance. These issues are, to some extent, the nature of retail management. Must have a good relationship with district manager to have any chance of success

Pros

The company puts on a cohesive effort in its marketing . They pay for ase testing sometimes. The coworkers In The shop are great to work with

Cons

If you are found out to be a gay employee they will attempt to starve you of good paying work and spread rumors about you. I have 6 ase certifications and have been stuck to oil change duty for 6mnths. If you know anything about the industry it's nearly impossible to make a living on oil changes. It was a good place to work until a coworker saw me at a gay bar and told management about it.
