Zero work life balance, you will be working alone open to close with no brakes or lunch despite what your state labor laws require. You will be asked to do things well above your own job description. You will be threatened with your job if you do not get at least 1 customer to sign up for a credit card per day, even if you consistently get more that the store manager. The company CLAIMS to compensate employees for milage if they have to drive their personal vehicle for company business but only 1 of my 5 managers would sign off on the paperwork and send it into district, you are not trusted with personally sending in your own expense reports. Open seven days a week. Some store managers are Incompetent, I had one that never even done an oil change before. I guess thats the kind of people you get when you salary your managers 48,000 a year and expect them to work 60 or 70 hours a week. Most of the good managers have left the company, the few that are left have been grandfathered in on the company pension plan and are just waiting it out for retirement. The company has since stopped offering a pension plan. Managers will improperly enter expenses in the computer in order to make the monthly numbers look better.
Most of the customers you work with are coming to the store for the best prices. I would get constant comments from the few loyal customers about the high turnover in the company. I even had one say "I talk to someone different every time I come in" The company does not do any TV advertising.
