Pros

The team is good at communicating because the team has a good business plan building within the branch itself to have a smooth operation and creating a great financial plan for the members. The other pro about First Tech is that they are giving back to the community and good cause. But other than that It is a well oil old corporate which always over promise and under delivered

Cons

Employer of Choice Claim vs Reality First Tech claims to be an employer of choice, but your experience feels the opposite. Conflicting Mindsets and Actions There’s a disconnect between what the company says and what it does. Job Insecurity You feel insecure about your job due to company policies, even though you consistently meet expectations and go above and beyond. Recruitment Promise Broken The recruiter told you that you’d be eligible for a mid-year increase, but later you learned you’re not eligible because you started one week later than another new hire. This feels like a calculated move against you from day one. Unpaid Promotional Reviews Being asked to provide free promotional reviews without incentives contradicts the company’s claim of investing in employees. Mismatch Between Words and Actions Overall, the company’s actions don’t match its stated values. Big Bank Mentality First Tech operates like any other big bank: Prioritizing shareholders and the board over employees. Treating employees like numbers. Pretending to care while making you feel undervalued and worried about losing your job. Employee Exploitation The company maximizes employee output while treating those who dedicate their time and lives poorly. Unnecessary Early Meetings Meetings that could have been emails now require you to show up at 7:45 AM, even though the bank opens at 9 AM—this feels unreasonable. Pay vs Expectations First Tech expects seriousness and high performance from employees but doesn’t take pay seriously, setting high expectations with no reward.

Pros

Co-workers were good people. They made the days just a little more bearable. Banking holidays, free snacks and food trucks.

Cons

The company reputation is the bottom line. They say employees are family, but the second you do anything to tarnish it, no matter how small or how fixable they tell you everything is, you're walked out the door. The pay although not the worst, most definitely is left to be desired considering the workload. Raises are a joke at best. PTO and sick time use a combined model that should really be illegal. Time off is also accrued, instead of a lump sum bucket. There’s definitely favoritism in the air. If your supervisor likes you, you’ll be able to work from home more than the minimum 2 days a week and get away with playing on your phone half the day. However, if you keep to yourself & question the status quo, you’ll be promptly singled out, placed on an action plan then micromanaged every second of the day! The amount of systems and processes you need to use daily just to complete a simple task is mind blowing. Procedures can be inconsistent for similar tasks. Leadership who have limited hands on of the day to day tasks, seem to think everything can be completed at snap of a finger.
