False Advertisement Sprinkled with Empty Promises

Pros

Some pros to working at FirstService Residential is that you can meet a lot of knowledgeable people, learn a lot about the business and overall, just gaining experience about the industry.

Cons

Unfortunately, there have been a lot of empty promises of development plans, pay increases and growth opportunities. Every internal growth opportunity that is presented gets turned down and replaced with an external candidate which is disappointing and discouraging. Pay increases that were promised upon signing the offer letter are often dismissed quickly and not looked into. Baiting those looking for a career to grow in with the empty promise of internal growth is wrong. Preaching about promotions yet not being able to say how many people have been promoted from within your regional office team is embarrassing. Dangling pay increases and bonuses in front of your most dedicated employees just for them to not even receive it after their end of the bargain has been fulfilled is hurtful. Retention in employees is not emphasized in the workplace which leads to low morale and a discouraged team.

Pros

Big company. Good benefits and lots of locations.

Cons

Their HR team starting from the VP down. She does not care for anyone other than her own well being. She is afraid of leadership so instead of doing the right thing, she will do what the business asks her to do. Does not support her employees. The only good strong person she had in HR ended up leaving due to lack of support and toxic environment. She was great. Aracelis. We miss her.

Pros

The pros were the HOA homeowners themselves. They were great and I enjoyed working with all of them.

Cons

First Service Residential does not support honesty or integrity as a management company. They train you as to their "company standards" but are completely corrupt internally, more interested in covering up mismanagement, overbilling the HOA association for costs that should have been incurred by FSR, taking kickbacks from vendors, etc. On top of all that, you will work with people who can't put together an intelligble sentence in English (their native language), spell, act in a professional manner; FSR "weeds out" real professionals because of the low standards they accept in employees. You could explain "ethics" all day, there are none here. Thank goodness no more of the stupid "first call" timewasting "team building" calls every morning. Tech support if terrible. Just a super bad experience all around.
