Very Impressive Pandemic Response

I am a new hire at Firstmark, and I've been extremely impressed with the company's response to the Coronavirus pandemic. Leadership has been truly concerned for the safety of employees and members. In turn, employees have responded by being safe and responsible. The response has been rational, measured, deliberate, and effective. I was proud to work here before the pandemic but am even more proud about it now.

Cons

The dress code can be formal. Decisions can be centralized, which can sometimes slow things down.

Get promoted with no experience or skills. Mgr., Dir., Spvr, no problem... Just make sure you smile and keep your honest opinion to yourself. You will go a long long way here.

Cons

Being a teacher's credit union, you would think they value educated employees. Nope. They value employees who know how to get by with a smile. The workforce here is on a trial and error basis. But it's okay, they feed you here and they master celebrations to buy off your honest opinions. HR is non existent. staff - inexperienced and wanna bees. Might as well get a PEO. Employees value loyalty here because their skills are below average and not acceptable anywhere else. So they stay and get promoted even without the experience, skills and education. You wonder how Directors and Managers get promoted here. It's frustrating to work here when you're the only one who knows what you are doing and reporting to someone who absolutely cannot give you guidance and direction. Stay away!

Great opportunity for growth & development. Opportunities for advancement. Great customer service for their members. Team oriented, Community involvement, 401k match, working towards the future through updated technology and great employees.. New CEO is amazing, down to earth and approachable . He has a clear understanding of where the company is and the direction FirstMark is going..( its exciting) its all about the employees and members

Pay is ok, hiring process can take up to 4 weeks but worth the wait...
