Pros

The people were doing their best they could with no SME’s to help them but are on a sinking ship

Cons

Upper management (aka Frank) has run this once proud organization to the ground and doesn’t care as long as $$ is flowing into his pocket. It makes no sense when reviews have no cons-best job in the world has cons so makes those hard to believe. Management can’t throw money at these reviews and get a “world best” award but think they try to balance the real reviews with fluff. If you are thinking of working here and live by a center of excellence, my advice is money isn’t always worth your mental health of dealing with this place. I wouldn’t wish it on an enemy.

Pros

Coworkers were top notch and a pleasure to work with.

Cons

Lack of caring for employee health. I had documentation from a Dr. advising against my return to office due to my medical condition and I was told to come back in or find a new job. Immediate management team has no power. Even your annual merit review is dictated by senior leadership. Over reliance on tracking software to gauge employee performance. Zero interest in looking into the quality of the tracked work. I supplied several reports outlining nefarious behavior and that data was ignored. Very little opportunity to advance and even less chance of getting a raise in salary. Zero flexibility in work/life balance but you are expected to bend whenever the company needs something. Massive silos when it comes to workload. Lots of guarding and non existent collaboration. The general motto is to guard your department to the death even at the expense of improving the overall company. Benefits are very expensive and the coverage is poor in comparison to the market.

Pros

Stepping stone into fintech or support roles

Cons

Poor pay Reduction in force/layoffs Historical knowledge and tenured employees are let go for outsourced employees or college graduates for lesser pay No more raises and bonuses Employee benefits are now used for stock buybacks CEO says “exceeds on reviews is comparable to being an astronaut he had pizza with in his back yard” so people barely get recognition for achievement Let go of most skilled engineers so updates are rare RTO isn’t allowed and if you don’t relocate to Berkeley Heights or an office that’s over staffed and unsafe you will get let go or replaced
