Pros

The company has a well-established market position and good reputation. They’ve got clearly defined goals and standards, which to me it provides a sense of stability. There is a solid training program provided, which is followed by tools that allow you to keep growing.

Cons

The work can be intense at busy days, however, there is a supportive team culture that makes it definitely easier and manageable.

Pros

Friendly team Good product development

Cons

The HR manager's attitude can make your work life difficult if they don't like you. Initially, they promise to guide you, but after training, they provide no positive feedback and leave you to work alone. Meetings with the Global Sales Director seem to focus solely on pointing out your daily mistakes, with no attempt to motivate you. They even scrutinize your customer interactions, only highlighting the negatives. Despite receiving consistently positive client reviews, I worked at Flashbay for a year without receiving any positive feedback from the company. In my opinion, Flashbay should prioritize motivating their employees rather than just focusing on meeting monthly targets. Motivated employees will naturally deliver better results. When I say "motivating," I mean providing positive feedback, not just giving out baguettes on Wednesdays. Please keep in mind that compensation is determined by market conditions. Joining a smaller department, such as the Portuguese department, will result in a much lower compensation.

Thanks for taking the time to share your feedback with us via Glassdoor. I am glad to hear you were happy with your team and our product range. Your recollection of your 12 month employment at Flashbay appears to differ from the facts therefore I've highlighted a few important points below for the benefit of the wider audience. You were hired for a hybrid role with 2 days per week in the office, this is the same set up as your colleagues and also your manager. Close to the end of your employment with Flashbay you made a request to change your employment to 100% remote working. This request was denied by the HR Manager because your performance was below the required standard and you required additional support from your manager who worked in the office on the same days as you. The issues with your performance had been communicated to you prior to you making the remote working request. Although you made it clear at the time that you did not agree with the decision we stand by it because the level of sales that you were able to attain was not sufficient to be sustainable and better support could be offered via a hybrid working model. We offer a great a 4 week initial training programme which we receive regular positive feedback on. After our initial training programme the focus moves to supporting 'on the job' and this necessarily includes reviewing how an individual is actually performing in their role, especially when the results being achieved are lower than would be expected or needed to be successful. We want every new joiner to succeed - our goal is to offer a supportive and motivating work environment which includes providing constructive feedback on a regular basis to help our sales team so they will not only achieve their goals but exceed them. As in any sales role there are targets to be achieved every month and it can be challenging (like all sales roles are). We want our team to be motivated, happy and productive and our sales people are rewarded well for the contribution they make. In terms of compensation we offer a competitive basic salary, an uncapped commission scheme and monthly competitions with cash prizes, meaning performance is directly linked to earnings. In a role that is heavily focused on commission it is expected that employees within the same team and across different teams will have different total earnings. We aim to provide an accurate predication of total earnings to prospective employees and therefore the earning potential mentioned in our job adverts and discussed during interviews is based upon the earnings of current employees during their first year of employment. We review these numbers regularly to ensure they're up to date. It’s an unfortunate reality that not every hire works out but we hope that you're now enjoying your new role. If you have any further feedback you'd like to share you can reach us on hr.uk@flashbay.com.
