Thanks for taking the time to share your feedback with us. We’re sorry to hear that you didn’t enjoy your time with us but we don’t agree with the points you’ve raised as they are not an accurate characterisation of the current environment at Flashbay. Taking each point in turn: -Poor pay, poor commission We offer a competitive basic salary, generous commission scheme and various bonuses and prizes. We provide an accurate predication of total earnings to prospective employees and therefore the earning potential mentioned in our job adverts and discussed during interviews is based upon the earnings of current employees during their first year of employment. We review these numbers regularly to ensure they're up to date. That is to say that the strength of the compensation being offered can be properly evaluated during the recruitment process and an alternative opportunity can be sought if it's not in line with your requirements or expectations. -Management is shockingly incompetent (HR especially) Over the years we've had different managers across different teams and their individual strengths and weaknesses have varied. You are entitled to your opinion but we don't have any records of anyone raising competency-based complaints in a forum where they could actually have been linked to specific situations or individuals and acted on constructively. -Bullying is tolerated if the bully brings profit Bullying is not tolerated but if it occurs and isn't witnessed or reported it's not likely to be resolved. We encourage all our employees to share any such experiences and they will be handled sensitively and appropriate action taken. -People got fired without warning, for example with locking their computers abruptly That's simply not true. Individuals are unlikely to keep their colleagues up to date with the status of any performance meetings, notice or warnings they've received and so third parties would not be aware of the lead up to any instances of dismissal or the associated reasons. Sensible and reasonable security protocols are in place when an employment relationship comes to an end. -TLs were allowed to steal accounts Team Leaders are empowered to organise for the reallocation of accounts which are not being managed to the desired standard or for a range of other reasons but such reallocation requests are reviewed and actioned by an independent team and have been for many years. -No flexibility when it comes to work (remote work, starting an hour later etc) For years we've had flexible start and finish times and while remote working wasn't in place before the pandemic it's subsequently been adopted by almost every single member of the team unless their role requires physical presence - our warehouse staff for example would find it tricky to dispatch samples from home. -No real benefits Minimum 30 days holiday (increasing with service length), private medical insurance, pension scheme, flexible start and end times, hybrid working, a Perkbox subscription, regular free lunches and breakfasts, free snacks and fruit in the kitchens, monthly events with free food and drinks, and regular team and full company events make for a robust benefits package for a company of our size. -Super high staff retention We don't think it's bad to have super high staff retention, in fact we're quite proud of it. Providing a good working environment is very important to us and our high number of long term employees with 5+ years service are testament to that. We receive regular feedback from current and previous employees about the great environment we have created. We believe our environment along with the initial training, events and renumeration and benefits package we offer are the main reasons for our impressive retention. -Outdated sales model and programs Our sales model serves our customers well and we're continually improving our range of products and services to serve them better. Advice to Management: Nothing, you do not know how to listen In fact we'd love to hear from you - get in touch at hr.uk@flashbay.com because the above review doesn't match any of our records from exit interviews. If issues, real or perceived, are not communicated at any point other than in an anonymous review potentially years after leaving it's hard to learn useful lessons and make improvements where it would be appropriate to do so. If you've read this far and you'd like to find out for yourself what it's like to be part of the Flashbay team apply for one of our open positions today.

Pros

-Good B2B Sales experience for beginners -Good health insurance -Fun outings when possible

Cons

-Dying industry, not many companies are willing to buy flash drives for security reasons and this company charges premium prices which makes it a tougher sell sometimes -Senior employees horde good accounts (rightfully so) but the way new employees inherit old accounts from previous reps will set up a new recruit for immediate success or failure. -During any hardship in economy companies cut out the branded items like this first which makes your employment vulnerable in any slight downturn -intense micromanaging -toxic middle management environment puts undo pressure on employees -pay is lower for area

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback with us on Glassdoor. We are pleased to hear you were happy with the health insurance, enjoyed the social outings and developed good B2B sales experience. We’re grateful for your additional feedback but respectfully we don’t agree. Flashdrives were our original product offering, originally launched in 2003 and they remain in high demand to this day with millions sold each year. Over the past 10 years we have diversified our product offering and now offer a wide range of the most popular promotional items to better cater for our customer's promotional product needs. While some businesses cut costs across the board during economic downturns many others take the opportunity to be more strategic in their spending and look for opportunities to differentiate themselves from their competition through marketing and with initiatives like the deployment of custom branded promotional products. The promotional products industry is growing and we fully intend to make the most of the opportunities that will be available in the months and years to come. We have a team who are responsible for assigning customers to all new sales team members and they follow a set process to ensure fairness. New hires are given a portfolio of existing customers and receive multiple inbound new customer enquiries every day, as do their colleagues. This is always very much welcomed by our new starters as they are aware that in many other sales roles new hires are required to build their account from scratch. The role of the sales person is to develop the existing accounts they inherit as well as convert the warm inbound leads into customers and build their own successful account. Individuals do this with varying degrees of success. Providing a good working environment is very important to us and we receive regular feedback from current and previous employees about the great environment we have created. This is an ongoing effort and we’re continually aiming to improve. Our group leaders are all experienced and successful sales people. As in any sales role there are KPIs and targets to be achieved every month and Group Leaders offer a supportive and motivating work environment to enable all employees to reach their full potential. Where one person sees support another may see micromanagement but ultimately our group and team leaders are seeking to enhance the effectiveness of every sales person and each sales person is the direct beneficiary of this by virtue of our commission scheme. We offer a competitive basic salary as well as a generous commission scheme and monthly cash prizes for competitions. We offer a range of benefits including private medical and dental insurance, hybrid or fully remote working, a Perkbox subscription and fully paid for company social events. We actively encourage all of our employees to provide feedback, both positive and negative, on a regular basis including during their Exit interview. If you feel there is additional information that you did not share prior to your departure that you feel would be of benefit to Flashbay, then please send an email to hr.uk@flashbay.com. We welcome the opportunity to discuss this further.
