Don't Get Sucked In

Pros

Weekend pay, the people that you work with are pretty nice, and can sometimes be a fun atmosphere.

Cons

Hours suck as a part-timer, the full timers literally abuse every second of you being there by walking around and doing nothing as soon as you get there. The management is like Nazi Germany! And if you want to go to the bathroom you better do it on your break, or management will comment on your trip to the bathroom on "their time" even though your paid for your breaks!

Pros

Amazing coworkers and generous discount

Cons

Corporate does not have a clue about how to run a retail operation, if your store is not in Appleton or Green Bay you will not get product. Certain popular, high dollar items will be out of stock for 6+ months, leading to customers being lost to competitors. There are no employees on a store level. Cost cutting has left skeleton crews to run stores. They say they can’t find anyone to hire but they only schedule 1 person a shift per department in order to save money. Crimes are committed against our customers in the name of profit. Selling defective, damaged, and dangerous products to lower shrink. Knowingly selling expired feed (that is also infested with mice) that will get animals sick, selling firearms with erroneous/incomplete paperwork, the list goes on. Anyone with ethics or integrity has ran for the hills or been sacked. GMs run their stores like personal fiefdoms, cruel and with an iron fist. Middle managers are yes men who don’t actually manage anything. There is no training to speak of, you will be hired and immediately thrown in after watching a couple of intro videos. Work environment is hostile and chaotic, from corporate to front end. You will be forced to commit unethical acts if you work here long enough. Pay is lowest in the industry and is below a livable wage.
