      Good Comp Opportunities to work on projects that make a big impact Fast-paced environment (this is also a con) Continuing education stipend Talented and helpful co-workers

      Cons

      Horrible management (in eng org). High frequency of PIPs and terminations lead to low team morale. Ethical concerns with respect to how law enforcement uses data collected by Flock devices. Extremely high productivity expectations with a strong emphasis on speed over quality. Very little positive feedback or encouragement from management. It felt like nothing was ever good enough. Long working hours are common. I commonly worked 60hr weeks. Code reviews often devolve into discussions over highly subjective preferences. Heavy emphasis on job titles. Strong “good-old-boys” dynamic and perceived favoritism.

      Pros

      I recently started full time at Flock and have loved my experience so far. The interview process was extremely well organized, and each round clearly outlined the specific competencies being assessed, such as communication skills, flexibility, and analytical thinking. They have also been very organized with the 30, 60, 90 day plan laid out for my onboarding.

      Cons

      While the 30, 60, 90 day plan has been extremely organized, some parts of the onboarding process have felt a bit disjointed. For example, I have occasionally been assigned tasks without full context or training in the systems needed to complete them. I have been able to work through this by communicating openly with my manager to get up to speed quickly.

      Fast-Paced, Impactful Marketing Role with Lots of Ownership

      Pros

      You get a lot of ownership over your work and can see the impact pretty quickly. There’s strong cross-functional exposure, especially with sales and marketing, and plenty of opportunities to be creative and try new things. The mission is easy to get behind, and if you like a fast-paced environment where no two weeks look the same, it can be exciting and motivating.

      Cons

      Like most growing companies, things move quickly and priorities can shift, which means flexibility is important. Busy periods can require extra time and energy, and work-life balance may vary depending on the season. Some processes and career paths are still evolving as the company scales, so there can be moments of ambiguity. That said, people who are proactive, adaptable, and comfortable in a dynamic environment tend to do well.
