There is no course of study which fully prepares one to be a project engineer here, so there is a steep learning curve with the multiple technologies to be mastered. Some projects have very tight deadlines. This can sometimes be stressful, but usually is short. Long-term forecasting is difficult.

There seems to be a concerted push internally for employees to post positive reviews on Glassdoor. If you follow the trend, comments have been consistently negative for many years until a recent explosion of positive reviews. Ford is a micromanaging, red tape processing, belittling organization. They treat the employees like children. You have to ask for a pen if you need one and will get scolded if you just asked for one yesterday. You need vice president approval to buy a customer lunch. They spend a lot of money on processes designed to mitigate loss, seemingly oblivious to the loss of operational dexterity and employee moral the processes create. I've never worked in an organization I would rate lower. Find a better opportunity. Don't waste your talent here.
