Pros

The only pro I took away from this workplace was the coaster.

Cons

This was an abusive organization. There was a culture of managerial bullying, particularly amongst the department in which I once worked. We were all overworked and burned out, but more deeply disconcerting was the "petty tyrant" managerial style that prevailed. Colleagues regularly threw others under the bus--not because they (all) were bad people, but because they needed to do so in order to survive an untenable work environment. I began as a happy-ish employee and then found myself nearly in tears before work every morning. A truly scarring experience is what you will get from this very troubling and mismanaged place of work.

Wait for the Other Shoe to Drop...

Pros

Events and celebrations for employees occur often (I would say the culture is nice here but as nice as it appears to be it doesn't cover the lingering soot of poor management); opportunities for advancement exist for certain people within this company (not so much so for Black people unfortunately)

Cons

Many people are being hired as many are on their way out the door; I was told by the CEO during my first week there to wait for the other shoe to drop and it did: after being told that it would be okay for me to take a sick day I was secretly released from my position which was quickly filled on the next business day; instead of hiring and appreciating intelligent employees the HR and management team in this company perceives such as a threat and recruits accordingly.

Be careful with the cronyism at FMG

Pros

If you are a new graduate, you get a chance to get your feet wet doing applied research to pick-up some experience that will help land a job at a better place.

Cons

Very "in-bred" so rising up the ranks will be difficult unless you are part of the "in-group". A previous comment about nepotism was spot-on as there is a lot of employees that are basically family (e.g., husband/wife, brother/sister, in-laws, college/grad school buddies, etc.). Ultimately, your performance reviews are a formality as your upward mobility is largely pre-determined. This is not a place for seasoned professionals nor entry-level folks that hope to stick around very long.
