Pros

Company Culture - taking care of the people (employees and members) is the executive teams top priority. Benefits - all benefits from medical coverage to 401(k) match are best in class. You even get PTO for your birthday and work anniversary! The people - sounds cliche but everyone who works here loves their job and enjoys coming to work every day.

Cons

I can't really think of any. Don't get me wrong, every day isn't paradise, but that's life. But even on the hard days, there is no where else I'd rather work.

Pros

There's decent pto and benefits

Cons

Training was very poor and I was expected to figure it out as I went. Constantly understaffed and overworked, but expected to deal with it. Little opportunity for advancement or back office role unless you're friends with someone.

Pros

There are no pros for this company.

Cons

This is one of the worst companies I have ever worked for. I left my 6-year career with another insurance company because I thought it would be a good opportunity. As soon as I started I realized I had made a mistake. The company is ran like a mom and pop shop not a company whose parent company trades in the stock market. There are no development and growth opportunity in the company. Many people employed in management and other positions are there because they know someone or are related to somebody in the company. They have a college student program and they treat those students better than their own employees. They will go above and beyond for them and will give them opportunites that other tenure employees don't have. Their way of doing business is antiquated and not in line with other insurance companies. The environment is hostile and HR is no help because they are not there to solve any kind of conflict or issues. For those thinking of joining the company please don't they are constantly firing people and once they fire people they call the local police to camp at the office for a week, like they have fired a criminal. When I joined I found out through other employees that during the pandemic they made them work from the office instead of allowing employees to work from home. They were more insterested in keeping tabs on employees than keeping them safe. This company lacks management with a vision and purpose.

Thanks for taking the time to share your feedback. We're sorry to hear that this was your impression during your time with us. While we know no workplace is perfect, we'd like to clarify that constant firings are simply not reflective of how we operate. We take hiring and employment decisions very seriously and strive to support our team members through clear expectations, communication, and performance feedback. We also want to emphasize that growth and development are top priorities for us. From internal promotions to professional training opportunities and programs, we actively invest in our team and understand they are key to our success. Favoritism has no place in our culture, and we’re committed to fairness, inclusion, and open dialogue across all levels of the organization to ensure issues are addressed promptly and constructively. As an awarded Great Place to Work, Fortera is proud of the positive, welcoming environment we've built thanks in large part to our diverse and hardworking team and a management group that genuinely cares about individual success and wellbeing. While your experience didn't reflect that, your feedback matters and helps us keep improving.
