Pros

Okay pay....money while you're trying to find a better job.

Cons

-Literally a hundred e-mails a day that you are expected to keep track of on top of your case load and other tasks. After I gave my two weeks I just gave up and **surprise** I could get the rest of my work done! -Every time you have questions about how things are ran and want to find a better solution your hand is slapped and the middle management will label you as being "negative". So nothing can be changed. -YOU WILL NEVER RECEIVE ANSWERS!! When you have questions on how to do your job the answer we got a lot was "Hold off on that"...so you never got an answer. -If you vent about the company your co-workers will tell management and then you will be yelled at my middle management. TRUST NO ONE. -If ANYONE from the corporate office e-mails you YOU ARE NOT ALLOWED TO E-MAIL THEM BACK. You must e-mail your team lead with the answer and your team lead will then e-mail the person from corporate with your answer. (This is the dumbest thing I ever heard BTW). -You will not be allowed to take any unpaid time off. And flexibility in your schedule is nowhere near possible. -You will probably cry a few times a day

Thank you for taking the time to review Forward Service Corporation and giving us some valuable insights into how we can improve for future staff. Forward Service Corporation has hired a compensation consultation and is proud to offer competitive wages and benefits for a non-profit. While it’s hard to assess all of the problems with an anonymous review, we definitely don’t want the atmosphere that you describe in our workplace to go on. We want FSC to be as empowering for our staff as it is for our customers. We take great pride in promoting from within and offering career development through training. Our people are our services and we strive to hire and retain the best.

Pros

Most of the employees are great to work with. There are a lot of great ideas and energy with new staff, but that quickly diminishes after you realize it is all smoke and mirrors with the many levels of management and leadership in place. We are told that the company strictly abides by the 'Impact Code,' and IF management would follow this with all levels of employees I am sure it would be a much better place to work. The hours, M-F 8-4:30 aren't bad, but it's expected with a job like this. Overall, the only highlight of working with this company so far is the program participants that you come into contact with.

Cons

Challenges of working here? HA! It is no wonder that there is such high turnover. When you first get hired you attend Orientation where they try to make you believe that you work in a team environment where there's an open door policy. You find out fast that you are not allowed to speak with ANY members of management, no exceptions, and all communications/concerns need to go through your Team Lead. There is no such thing as structured training and you are responsible for learning a lot of things on your own. The entire corporation is poorly ran and mismanaged resulting in staff feeling unsure of any type of job security and always looking for new jobs elsewhere. Its a disappointing place to be employed. And did I mention poor benefits? As someone mentioned earlier, if you quit or get fired you lose all your vacation pay that you earned throughout the year.

We understand that you are a current employee who doesn’t like your work environment and that’s definitely something we don’t want, especially as you say that you enjoy working with the participants (which we definitely do want). As with all organizations, we do have a chain of command here at FSC and it starts with the Team Leader. We don’t intend this to stifle interaction, but it is only fair that you start with the first-line supervisor first. However, if you aren’t getting results, you should certainly feel empowered to speak with a Program Coordinator or our Human Resources department. We want every employee to feel valued because our people are our service. We especially want our Impact Code to be the core of everything we do and how we interact with each other. We are reviewing and improving our training offerings to help our leadership at all levels because, as the Impact Code says, we need to be constant students and we’re learning as the organization does. We offer the $1,000 referral bonus to our staff because we value them and believe that they can get us the people who will flourish at FSC and help us carry out our service mission.

Pros

Being part of this organization is a great way to expand your experience working with various roles within the non-profit industry. The entire staff is so welcoming and enthusiastic about what they do and the people they help. They offer a lot of opportunity to promote internally.

Cons

Be prepared to be working with government program that can require a lot of communication and flexibility for changes. This is a "pro" for me but to persons who like routine, this can be frustrating at times.
