Pros

AMAZING culture. People are kind, generous and collaborative. Room to grow in your job and flexibility of work schedule. Good benefits. Leadership who listens and wants to make change happen.

Cons

Rapid growth and expansion causing rapid change. Great opportunity to learn and grow. Lower salary than with for-profit but that's the nature of the game.

Pros

The families and kids at Fraser were awesome. Many, many incredibly dedicated and hard-working employees. Fraser has a wonderful mission and in my opinion a solid treatment philosophy. There are opportunities to get experience working with a variety of age groups within a number of different settings (individual, groups, day treatment, etc.). The team approach allows employees to work closely with many different types of professionals.

Cons

I worked at one of Fraser's first satellite offices and there was a huge lack of communication between the main site and our site. There was a lot of disorganization - I went some time before even having a desk. Fraser began expanding very quickly, and many employees were concerned that this was happening quicker than they could manage, especially as they were far from having worked out all the kinks of their initial expansions. Full-time, masters level employees were underpaid compared to counterparts at other agencies and were not rewarded for obtaining higher levels of licensure/credentials. Benefits were ok, but the PTO system was frustrating - employees had to accrue PTO for sick time, holidays, and vacation. I personally have preferred other agencies that give a flat amount of days for sick time and paid holidays, and then employees accrue for vacation throughout the year. Hours are long, especially if you are seeing individual clients since families expect after school hours. Most days I was working until 6 or 7PM. Cell phones were not provided to employees who spent a lot of time doing in-home work. A lot of focus was placed on "productivity", which always makes employees feel like a company is more interested in profit than quality service. At the time I began, training was minimal. Families expect employees to be the "experts" in autism, and many employees were learning as they went.

Thank you for your feedback. It is with regret that we hear your time with Fraser did not meet your expectations. The Mental Health Practitioner II role is a challenging yet very important position in supporting our clients. We want to let you know that initiatives have been implemented to address some of your concerns. In 2016, senior leadership has been conducting listening sessions with employees to hear their feedback. We have completed a multi-year initiative to create robust career ladders for each of our program areas, salary step programs and extensive onboarding programs. Several of our leaders are working on a strategic training initiative that supports employee promotion through training and licensure completion. We are also increasing communication across clinical sites through collaborative manager meetings, and continued expansion of the on-boarding training plan to help staff feel prepared in their new roles. We welcome you to contact Fraser Human Resources to share more about your feedback. It is our goal to exceed the expectations of our clients and staff.
