Employees are great to work with and really care about the patients. Great locations with easy access to and from work. Expanding locations and services.

Cons

Hard work is not valued by management, minions are preferred. Culture between the two main campuses is not consistent.

Hires RN's right out of school, location, easy to change from one discipline to another within the hospital system, community feel.

Cons

Awful employee benefits, below average pay, high attrition rate of RN's, lack of support from management, lack of support for furthering education

Doctors run the show....

Pros

Decent care for patients for the most part. On a surface level the culture of the hospital is friendly.

Cons

The doctors are totally allowed to run the show. It is often difficult to bring evidence based care into practice, just because a doctor wants to have things as they are...even if is makes no difference to what they do. Doctors are allowed to behave in an abusive and demeaning manner to other staff...especially if their practice brings in a good deal of money.

In addition, United Hospital System has several clinical committees that staff participate in to provide feedback on evidence based medicine.
