Pros

good pay in the engineering department in the Denver area

Cons

If you're reading this because you are considering employment in at Frontdoor, be aware that the negative reviews on here are fully accurate. Lots and lots of employees in Denver have left recently, because they've realized they can get a job in a better working environment especially now that so many companies have gone remote. Even if you are not an engineer, if you work with them, these problems will also effect you. Back in June of 2020, I wrote a negative review on here about how bad the culture and meeting etiquette at this company is. It took them nearly a full year, a mass exodus from engineering, and other employees saying the same thing for them to realize that they should think about addressing the issue. As of this writing, that's all that's happened. They've acknowledged they're going to address it, but not how they're going to address it. So, keep that in mind for how much this company values its employees feedback. Oh and also one time, in an apparent last ditch effort for the CTO to reverse his negative image, they bought lunch for our team, but it came with the price of being forced to eat lunch on zoom while chatting with the CTO. 0/10 would not accept that lunch offer again. Post-covid, they're moving to a hybrid work from home / work in the office model. But since they never figured out how to have a good meeting culture when everyone was equalized by ALL being on zoom, I don't have high hopes that this will be a positive change once some employees are in the office some days, and others are at home. This is a much more complex situation to deal with than everyone being at home.

Pros

Remote flexibility during COVID19 Compensation is very competitive while onboarding Using many newer, innovative technologies

Cons

By far the worst executive leadership team I have ever experienced. It's quite obvious the CEO (who very unprofessionally goes by TREX) is running a company for the first time. The company has always been very profitable, but he has made many additional, expensive org changes with little differentiating results. Offices have been opened in Colorado and India with little to no additional success to how the company was operating previous to his arrival. Many positions have been eliminated and outsourced to India and the Philippines which is ironic for a company whose primary business is "American Home Shield". The best part is he hired a CTO who also had never been on an ELT before. Of course said CTO has a track record for sinking ships. See the reviews of ridecell when he was a VP over there. The turnover rate has soared since said CTO has took over and demanded 80+ hour work weeks which are mostly due to him constantly changing his mind. Most legacy knowledge has left he company at his expense. He also opened a "technology center' in India where he has hired many personal friends and removed well qualified American candidates from their positions. Lastly, the chief people officer does nothing, but promote a toxic work environment. The last thing you want from someone in this position. She has received constant complaints on how engineering resources are bullied and manipulated. She has done nothing to make this a better environment and only adds fuel to the fire. These three people alone have made this by far the most toxic environment I have ever worked in. Let's hope one day the powers that be see the damage that is being done and the next ELT can fix the mess the current team is leaving this company in.
