Great Local people, but a truly LOCO CEO

Pros

The local offices are manned by committed and caring people who genuinely care about the customers and the communities. At entry level and out in the regional offices a great place to work. And you can make a difference for the customers

Cons

The CEO is a class A queen of mean. Leona Helmsley had nothing on her as a prima donna. She has a multi page list of all her personal requirements for any visit. This starts with the lengthy introduction list of Maggie's accolades that the host must read off before she speaks to any group. Ask an uncomfortable or objective question and you will likely be fired. Keep your head down and your mouth shut whenever Maggie is around. And if you are forced to speak in her presence, always sing her praises loud and long.

Pros

Somewhat flexible work schedule; decent benefits; great coworkers.

Cons

It's very evident that corporate Frontier Communications doesn't care about their employees whatsoever. I always felt like the ax was about the drop; not because of performance, but just because there was always financial uncertainty on the table. Additionally, most managers had the type of mentality that your number one job is to make them happy, regardless of whether or not it had any benefit to the company or your team.

Pros

First line managers are easy to work for, the pay is great considering what I actually do in a day.

Cons

Management above the first line have no clue what is going on and they roll out the worst ideas possible. All the old Verizon/GTE practices that didn't work are being brought back because the old Verizon employees are still in a position of power. Feel like we have been lied to since the acquisition from Verizon, they said that they are an employee friendly company but it sure doesn't seem like it though. From work groups that don't have enough techs to handle the volume of trouble tickets to the constant changing of the technician schedules, you're not left with time at home to release from the job. And with more focus on your numbers than actually addressing the real issues you feel like you are one slip up away from discipline.
