Promotion = NO RAISE! *Fake 5 star ratings written by HR*
Pros
- People in RVC office are very friendly - Nice office -Good employee benefits (unlimited time off, health, dental, vision, life insurance, 401k matched 100% for the first 3% & 50% for the next 2%)
Cons
- Promotion in a development team means NO RAISE (DEV, QA, UX). It sucks because if you're a QA and Chapter Lead is the highest position available in the company, so if you're lucky enough to get a promotion to become a Chapter Lead you won't be receiving a raise. that means there's NO chance for you ever to get a salary increase in the company. A promotion without raise is just extra responsibilities. -Management is shady. Manager will tell you what you want to hear to keep you happy. Once you find out the truth it just makes unhappy in the long term. Makes promises to people that can't be kept (knowing won't be able to) and then pretends to be a good guy. Just be honest from the get go so people don't get their hopes up. -You will see executives in the office only if something big (good/bad) happens. You'll feel isolated from the rest of the company, thats a good or bad thing depends on how you look at it. - Company got acquired by a bigger venture capital in 2017 for a big sum and promised profits. The company hasn't had a good quarter ever since and recently laid off 5% of company. Executives set up an expectation they can't keep & now the company just seems to go downhill. -There's a barely any diversity in the Malvern office.
