Pros

Some great, genuine, smart people who work hard and want to contribute. The product has real potential to be powerful if design and engineering were more focused and got more investment. Pay is good, but remains flat without a job title change. Barely keeping up with cost of living rises but at least those salary increases do get added annually.

Cons

Leadership. Constant reorgs. Constant strategy changes. Constant messaging changes because leadership can’t agree. Constant finger pointing. A select few at the top making decisions about the fates of teams they know nothing about. Squandering actually talented and smart people because it’s easy to just assign blame instead of redirecting their efforts to what’s needed. Glossing over major departures and not being honest about reasons why we’re letting certain people go has ruined the trust employees once had in the people running the company. Lack of clarity in product direction breeds miscommunication in marketing and sales. We continue to market the art of the possible too early. Lack of investment and accountability in the product org. Many managers who shift focus before completing what they promised to deliver multiple quarters ago. Lots of conversations about what we could do and what’s possible, not enough concrete decision making and plans that are adhered to. The smallest product wins are sold internally as massive successes. We should have higher standards for ourselves. Certain teams keep seeing restructures after being given competing priorities. The company is very quick to point fingers at middle management when the C-suite cannot get on the same page. Select teams have managed to maintain the humanity in their work. Most are thrown around frequently with new leaders assigned and no hand-off, forcing ICs to have to educate new bosses while being given even more work with little support. Some leaders do not respect the “out of office” status and make people feel guilty if they don’t respond quickly enough. Slack has the schedule message feature for a reason. Use it.

Thanks for taking the time to share your experience with us, even if it wasn't a great one. While we’re glad you had a positive experience in regards to our work environment and FullStorian community, we really hate that we let you down. We never want an employee to have a negative experience, so we want to be sure we're always listening. With the shifting macro environment, the difficult decision was made to eliminate roles that didn’t meet the needs of the current economy. While it was not our intention to mislead anyone, we’ll take this feedback to continuously work on ensuring that our communication is clear and trustworthy. Thanks again for taking the time to share openly and honestly. We are sorry your journey at FullStory could not continue, but we wish you all the best in your next role.

Pros

Product is the best out there. Everyone likes it, and its really amazing and helps people innovate their products and sites

Cons

My opinion is that sales culture is really bad and broken. No guidance or no direction for the AE. People are promoted for no reason but being friends with sr leaders and coming from the same company they did. they are always threatening to put people on ‘plan’ , but cant say how to be successful. Just tell you to do what people that are hitting quota are doing, then make things up in slack as examples. When you ask the people hitting their numbers about it they will tell you straight up that they aren’t doing that stuff management said or that it didnt lead to them being successful. Management has no clue whats going on for the AEs, and cant seem to help so they just fire down to a number where folks are getting to quota instead of helping the people and company grow. Especially i would say this for entry level AE roles All just my opinion but my advice to the job seeker looking to join, call or send linkedin messages to other AEs that would be your peers ahead of joining. Make sure you know what you are getting into

We appreciate that you took the time and effort to share your experience with us in detail, but we wish your time at FullStory had been a positive experience. While we can’t change that, we hope we’re able to provide you with some solace when it comes to how we’re growing moving forward. We know the market’s been changing, for one, so we’ve been aligning the incentive program via mid-period adjustments and SPIFFs. We’re also implementing more training to help individuals feel set up for success going into a Sales role at FullStory, as well as investing more in our product - and how to sell FullStory’s platform. Again, while it stings to hear that your experience here could have been better, what you’ve shared with us will help us grow, and we appreciate it.
