Pros

Pretty good benefits, but not as good as they used to be. Lots of leave time.

Cons

Constant re-orgs lately, lots of talk about company buy-outs, 2% annual raises, moving to "open office" concept

Pros

The 401k match is incredibly generous, the work rarely requires a full day to complete, and the PTO policy allows lots of time for other things. There are a handful of highly capable individuals scattered throughout the company.

Cons

The base pay is well below market norms for technical and product positions. Leadership has proven thus far unable to articulate a clear vision and strategy for the company, leading to paralyzing empire building pursuits at lower levels. Discrimination and harassment run rampant and unchecked, at levels that would not be tolerated within a progressive company outside of Alaska. Despite the presence of a few highly capable individuals, there is not a single function that could be considered effective to stand against real competition. Internal systems are beyond antiquated and leaderships go-to solution is to just throw more consultants at them without a willingness to fundamentally change to resolve the root problems. Promotions generally require employee to become demoralized and then get an outside offer.

Too many chiefs and a snobbish workplace

Pros

Employee product quality monitoring program gives employees free cable, internet, cell phone.

Cons

Too many people “in power”. Seems like there’s a VP of everything, a plethora of directors, and yet no one knows what to do. Promotes people with extremely poor management just because they’re loud. Gossipy employees and leaders who listen to and promote gossip if they don’t like another employee. Real proud of themselves for providing a bare minimum to customers. Throws money around for show without real investment. Terrible benefits.
