Getting indifferent

Pros

Pay Additional pay for nights or weekend shifts

Cons

- when I started I thought I’d have a 30 year career - now not so sure. -Upward mobility once within leadership is gone -Forcing multiple roles that used to be other departments all into one position without additional compensation -unreasonable performance goals pitted against a national ranking system of all associates (everyone knows if you get rid of the bottom 10% there will be a new bottom 10%) -forced in office for more than 80% of the week with no justifiable reasons -fear of losing job or other layoffs regardless of performance ranking -unable to use more than 77.5 hours of sick time per 12 rolling months even if the associate has well above that amount saved up (without fml) Could go on and on. Literally the only reason anyone works at geico is the pay and for some associates even that is probably not great but still better the surrounding communities near the geico office.

Pros

There are no pros whatsoever, maybe the pay was a little decent but not worth the agony, pain and suffering this job causes

Cons

Management micromanages you like crazy. It’s annoying and high school ish. They just required RTO 4 days week and changed my schedule with a one day notice after returning from having a baby. They forever change their metrics making it difficult to succeed and advance, they DO NOT care about their employees. You are just a number. They are finding any way to force people to quit. Thank God I did. I feel relieved more than ever!! No more ptsd, depression, anxiety and pain from this place.

Pros

Some members of management still care about the culture

Cons

Cuts to benefits, bonuses, using raises as a reason it is ok to not expect a bonus. Unstable with consistent layoffs and performance firings twice a year with no clear target. 8 years ago I would recommend but today I wouldn't touch it.
