Pros

Go to meet alot of people and really just had fun while I got paid. Best Job I ever had.

Cons

Driving home a night with all the drunk drivers. Got off when all the bars were closing so you had to be alert when driving home.

GMR - 6 month Review

Pros

Working from home really helps in many aspects of life, it helps by giving you a sense of comfort knowing you aren't away from home at all times of the day. GMR provides me with everything I need to do my job, and more. The way they communicate considering I am not in the same city, much less state is really refreshing. I feel close to my coworkers, though 99% of them (from GMR) are hundreds of miles away.

Cons

The distance is sometimes a bit difficult to work with, knowing that I am on my own was very difficult when I first signed on. The feeling is gone after a couple of months but I can't help but think that I was afraid at times. Not having co workers around sometimes feels odd, I'm used to working with people all around but this is a change I have gotten used to.

Great Place to Work

Pros

In my opinion there are 3 things about GMR that make it an awesome place to work. The People, The Culture, and the Clients. The people here are great! Everyone is smart, talented, and fun to work with. I love that I get to work with different groups of people on different projects - it feels like the team is always full of fresh ideas and we all lean on each other to do great work. GMR is definitely one of the funnest places I've worked... the culture here is awesome! There's tons of events (which almost always include free beer), and lots of employee perks. All of these perks don't feel like they come with strings attached either - they don't expect 12-hour workdays out of you in return. The workday is super flexible (as long as you're getting your work done). You can work from home, and set your own hours (within reason obviously). It's a very collaborative environment but it's not over the top - you still have plenty of time to pop your headphones in and focus without interruption. The scale of the work at GMR is pretty cool. All of the clients are very well known brands and they are all very innovative and creative. Most of the projects are fun, challenging, and fairly high profile. There's a big emphasis on quality - our clients expect world class work, and it feels like we have access to whatever resources we need to do great work. Overall, it's been a really great place to work!

Cons

We seem pretty siloed as an organization. I think that's a challenge that every company this size faces, but there's not much collaboration between the various teams. It does seem like management is working at this - there's been a lot more social events and I've noticed the new coffee station has become an area that lots of people gather. I've met more people from other departments waiting for coffee than anywhere else. I like stuff like this because it's a much more casual way breaking down silos -- I think we all hate any type of forced collaboration events and icebreakers.
