Pros

- Enjoy helping people and answering questions - Being able to rent used games for a couple of days

Cons

- Hours based on annual sale goals does not work well, especially mall locations - Poor pay - Constant micromanagement - Very little incentive to be promoted - Witnessed part-timer being scheduled over 35 hours - A lot of playing "tech support" over the phone - Shady sales antics from other stores in district led to much scrutiny for other stores "under performing" in-comparison.

Pros

Enjoyed working with the fellow gamestop associates and serving customers that genuinely needed advice. Scheduling was easy and flexible but heavily dependent on store management.

Cons

P.O.S system is clumsy and archaic. General Managers push used products and Game Informer subscriptions on customers that don't benefit from it. Questionable used merchandise buying policies. We'd often seen stolen merchandise brought in from near-by retailers to resell for cash. General Managers were aware but made no attempt to prevent the purchase and resale. Corporate committed zero effort to improving company culture/values.
