Pros

Good medical benefits. If you are in to the hobby the discount is great at 50% off of anything in the store. Getting to spend time in the store and with the customer base. Constantly learning and teaching new hobby techniques.

Cons

Horrible communication processes. Definitely a club, not a culture as they describe it. If you are not embraced by management on a friendly level do not expect to be given any kind of chance to succeed. Management does not see staff as people with lives, but rather as disposable. Horrible training, with 100% of emphasis on learning how to have Games Workshop "Sales Conversation." No training on policy, or culture. Questions directed to upper management can take days to answer and then will be met with vague answers, or ambiguous responses rather than actual yes or no. Trainers almost seem to be there more to make you feel like you are not doing your job than they are to actually make suggestions that could help your job.

Pros

50% off toy soldiers, free food on training courses at the head office.

Cons

You cannot live on discounted toy soldiers. You will be asked to work considerable overtime, for which you will not even be paid at your basic rate of pay, you will be expected to be an expert on all things the company produces, act like a child-minder, work every weekend without fail, and work beyond your maximum ability due to chronic short-staffing, all for minimum wage. You will likely be relocated to a new store upon joining the company, thus incurring transport costs you can barely afford at such a low rate of pay. The icing on the cake is a company culture that demands staff to positively hound customers in a robotic, blinkered manner that is universally disliked by the customer. Finally; due to your commitment to work your social life will suffer, to the point where even your own indulgence in the GW "hobby" will almost entirely stop.

Pros

Welcoming atmosphere. Very people focused - looking out for members of staff and always open to hear your point of view. Gave support during personal troubles. Management are easy to approach and aren't 'over your shoulder'. All employees are kept upto date on the current direction and progress the company is going through.

Cons

As I think would be inherent in many companies with such a varies skill set and level across workers - all in the same building / site - some departments feel a little segregated or prefer not to mix with workers not in their department. This is most evident as a split between the creative and engineering departments.
