Pros

Decent work/life balance; perks for employees who like to take breaks by playing ping pong, basketball, or volleyball; employees got to borrow Garmin products.

Cons

Pay was significantly less than competitors and linked solely to performance relative to colleagues; limited movement potential within company due to size; no training for team leads and managers; employees selectively subjected to productivity tracking using covertly installed monitoring software that captures keystrokes, screenshots, mouse movements, etc.

Pros

I work in the software engineering dept at the Salem OR office. My coworkers are great, immediate management is pretty good (supportive, gives a fair amount of autonomy). The health benefits, 401K, stock plans are great. People are happy to help with your technical problems, friendly to new hires etc. Overall a pretty good place to work if you are OK with software dev cycle moving somewhat slowly & with lots of documentation and testing. This is critical for product safety in the aviation department, and the work itself is pretty interesting, just with more overhead than some engineers may be used to.

Cons

PTO policy is not very generous compared to many tech companies. It's especially hard for new hires to accrue time off, and your sick time comes out of the same bucket of time (about 2 weeks PTO each year for your first 5 years, I believe). Pay seems low compared to many tech companies. It might be more appropriate for the cost of living in the Olathe KS office. Not uncommon to get a salary increase of only 1% or 2% each year. Yearly bonuses are so small as to be almost nonexistent. Higher-level management in Olathe doesn't give Salem as much autonomy as we might desire. Covid policies have been hit and miss in my opinion. There was a generous covid-specific paid leave policy for the first two years, but it was sunsetted this January right when Omicron hit a lot of people. Our ability to remote work has been hampered by technical difficulties for the past 2 years, and it does not appear that remote work will be supported well in the post-covid era. Not a lot of opportunity to switch from engineering into low-level management positions. Software dev is mostly in C.

Pros

good benefits, good products, Below are strictly for ERP IT - good to start your career, good if you are in your final years of retirement and don't have any drive left for work, good if you have passion for something else besides the work, you will get lots of time to follow your personal life goals, salary is not great but average based on the market If you are below mediocre at analytical skills and the ERP knowledge; just want to come at 9 and leave at 4.30; do not have any passion for work, then this is the right Company and great team (ERP) for you. If you are a good analyst then they will keep you as an analyst for rest of your life, but if you are pathetic as an analyst then you will get promoted if you can JUST do the talking

Cons

These cons are strictly for ERP IT- No growth opportunity for the deserving candidates, All the managers suck up to the management so if you have different opinion you will be shut down 80% of the ERP Managers don't know the ERP system so if you are good a good ERP Analyst then god bless you with your review and growth opportunities You don't need to know the ERP to grow in your career, you just need to be able to talk in descent English (still there are some managers who don't even speak proper English and suck at managing people which will also make you wonder what got them to that position) If you are the one who can troubleshoot and fix the issue quickly this is not the company for you If you don't know Oracle ERP but know how to create the SRs to fix the issue and make it SEV1 and provide visibility to the management. So basically, you took 2 weeks to fix the issue which could have been fixed in half a day by a seasoned analyst. Then you will get recognized and promoted because according to the ERP management he is a team player. In Each ERP team there will be one or 2 persons doing the actual work and others are just taking the credit or the promotions. No process to perform anonymous annual evaluation of the management by the subordinates, so managers quality sucks big time. Promotion is done based on the tenure instead of the performance, so potential employees think twice before joining. Join if you have no other options or need visa.
