You feel proud to work for Gates Your efforts/success is appreciated (if you have a good manager) The team is fairly good, friendly and open to share knowledge. Salary is satisfactory You can enjoy your work at Gates

Cons

Some might think that the salary distribution isn't fair Often times what matters is how much you stay close to your management as opposed to how well you perform Some people may own your achievement Achievements may not be recognized. This is all about the management team. I observe that some plants have much better working teams so if the team is good, you are lucky.

If you are looking in Iola for a decently paying job, then Gates is one of the highest paying in the area. The lowest you start out at is 10 and you would top out at 12. In other areas you can make up to 16 in enough time put in at the job.

Cons

If you like a place that isn't all over you for every little thing, then this is not the place for you. If you think you should have communication or training to do your job, then this is not the place for you. It is a sink or swim environment and you will get the shaft at any turn they can.

Great people with long tenure and expertise, which is big reason why they are a market leader. Senior management very engaged in day to day activities and market/industry movements, very good handle on challenges & opportunities. Exceptional focus on customer services & making sure the needs of customers are met. Advancement opportunities if you produce.

Cons

Organizational structure too complex. Duplications given business unit structure. Information & communication not as fluent as it could or should be mainly given size & geographic spread across regions. Not leveraging expertise between business units or other companies within total group of Tomkins.
