Pros

The best employee discount I've ever had, option to have uniforms supplied

Cons

Workplace culture was awful, relationships between Best Buy and Geek Squad employees were incredibly toxic and store management was cliquey and manipulative. The way management would reward customers and clients who would be rude, angry, and negative towards their employees while offering nothing to customers who were reasonable made you lose all faith in them. Even after leaving I refuse to go back as a customer because of how I was treated by the store management. Those who are good at networking and manipulating move up in the management ladder while those who genuinely know their job and the jobs of those around them better are baited with the promise of promotions and raises that will never come, only to keep them doing others' tasks because staffing is done by inept Best Buy management.

Pros

Hours are extremely flexible atleast at my location

Cons

No matter how hard you work and no matter how many TTS you sell, there is no incentive to work harder and there is no room to move up after you get the job. for 4 months straight, I have been over $90/ hour in revenue when the goal is $40, but I get paid the least out of my team who's next highest member next to me in terms of revenue is at $30, not even meeting the goal. There is no penalty for not meeting your goals, so really trying to push myself to sell more in the end has really just showed me that I can work my butt off to make the company thousands of dollars and still only get $15 an hour.

Pros

Field work. Company vehicle, gas , tools and shirt

Cons

Low starting pay. No promotion. Can only apply for better position if someone leaves. No proper training online courses only. You are force to do higher paying job without higher pay until you get the title which can take years. You will be sent into people's home to do jobs without any training and have to figure it out on the fly and they have no idea that you're not even a technician but a helper who maybe just watch someone do the same job one time. And when things go wrong you still get blamed for it and get written up. Management will use you as much as the can for as little pay as possible and throw you under the bus the first chance they get. Good luck getting a management position if you're not white. They would rather promote people with criminal records or some with no clue before they promote a non-white field technician even if knows the job better than anybody or has the most experience. And those same managers have biases and discriminate against employees who ask for better work conditions.
