Pros

-Get to work around great, new technology -Coworkers within the precinct are oftentimes fun to be around -Pay isn't terrible -Reasonably flexible on hours (not on time off though) -Uniforms and all that is paid for -The employee discount is worth dealing with a lot

Cons

-Time off is hard to get, as most precincts are understaffed -Management never stands up for Geek Squad (the Geek Squad supervisor is under all managers) -Limited on what hardware problems you can fix in store -People only come to you when they are upset because their devices are broken -Full time spots are VERY hard to come by, with even the largest precincts having only a few -Mostly a retail position: most of the work is done remotely, you do mostly sales.

Pros

It's a cool, fun place to work. Best Buy is a pretty fun employer overall, but Geek Squad is pretty much its own entity. Discounts and accommodations are awesome.

Cons

Constant stress from angry/confused customers and management tends to be pretty ignorant as to what we actually do. There's been a recent trend over the last couple of years to turn Agents into tie-wearing salespeople.

Pros

For retail it's decent, but it's still retail. If you can stick it out and get a Full Time spot, the benefits are very good. I would say this is the best possible job you could have while going to college.

Cons

Most IT companies do not look at Geek Squad as relevant job experience. You would think that you are there to work on computers, or at least give advice. However, your position will constantly be abused to sell computers on the sales floor, sell tv's, sell CD's, or be a glorified cashier. If you just want a paycheck, it's fine. If you want to have any passion about your job and not be left frustrated, look elsewhere.
