Pros
Geek Squad on a whole can provide a very positive work experience for most people out there. The tools to do your job are there and management is willing to get them immediately if they are not. The software provided to repair operating systems is robust and there are menu open venues for communications between individuals, other store locations and corporate to improve tools or to catalog common computer fixes. Most people in the job market looking for a starter IT career would do well to begin their careers at Geek Squad.
Cons
A turn off to most would-be technicians is that Geek Squad is first and foremost in a retail location. So most of the hardships that come with working retail compound onto the stresses of providing computer service and repair. This can be very demotivating to some. Also opportunities to advance and stay in a technical/service oriented career path become very narrow as you move up, an entire district or two could have only one person that facilitates a project manager / network administrator type position.
