      thank you for your feedback, we are sorry to hear the comment about our pay and benefit. Although individual compensation is performance based which I cannot comment, one fact is that our benefits, including vacations/leaves, health insurance, 401K, FSA/DCA and meal plan, have improved a lot during the past 3 years and become very competitive.

      A great start for fresh PhDs

      Pros

      GenScript welcomes fresh graduate students who want to try something other than bench work. Lots of training and opportunities for self-growth. Most employees are highly educated and well trained in the biology-related fields, thus easy to communicate and work with. Most importantly, the overall working environment is very friendly and everyone's work or opinion is valued and respected. Great company to work for if you are looking for somewhere that can provide you the resources and opportunities to grow.

      Cons

      The company is growing very fast and you will need to be motivated to keep up with all the job responsibilities. If you are looking for a laid-back 9-5 job, you will probably find working here challenging. For my position, we will have meetings with our China team during evening hours once in a while, however, we do get those hours back for extra vacation days! Other positions may not require direct interactions or evening meetings with our China team.

      Nice company to work for

      Pros

      Friendly environment, co-worker in the same department is very willing to help out when the situation demands it. Communications between management and team member have been increasing, and to great effect. Prone to promote within the company, as long as you are willing to work hard, and stuck to the same company.

      Cons

      Very stingy with vacation/holiday. As a provider for federal institutes, it should provide at least 5 days of sick time, we only get three, now two more days as personal days, which requires supervisor approval. No holidays between Jan to the end of May, and no veteran's day, or several other federal holidays. Total only 7 days of holiday time in the whole year.
