Pros

I just want to point out. All the positive reviews look so fake. I don't think anyone who actually work here will leave such positive reviews. All the positive reviews were in the past 2 months, but during the last few years, this company always receive negative reviews, isn't it odd? If you check carefully, all the positive reviews have similar formant and even made same grammar mistakes.

Cons

Well, like all other REAL reviews said. No work-life balance, Poor benefits etc. If you are in the sales team, the goal getting more and more higher, I think in this Q, only few sales can get commission. The base salary for sales person are typically very low. If you are in the TAM team, you have to work 9-10 hours per day in order to get everything done. If you are in shipping/lab. you can barely survive with the money they give you. ......

first of all we don't care about score, what we care is everyone has fair chance of voice, you are free to voice your opinion and others who have been here for years and liked the company also have theirs. You only speak for yourself. also, regarding the sales goal, we are a growing company and our revenue grows more than 20% every year, and the sales goal grows like that too, did our sales team deliver the number? well Genscript is a public traded company and everyone can check our annual and bi-annual financial reports.

Pros

*Fast growing company (>20% annual sales increase in the past consecutive 7 years) *The management team push themselves harder than they push employees. They take employees' suggestions into consideration and had made great improvements since my joining 7 years ago (e.g., salary, bonus, insurance, suitable personal development opportunities for proactive hardworking talented employees). *The company provides fresh biology graduates opportunities to enter into industrial field. *A good place for experienced biology postdocs who need a stable job to support the family, and still make good use of their scientific assets in the work. *Nice, warm, helpful co-workers

Cons

Communication between management and employee could be further improved.

Pros

The pay was very fair, there is opportunity for advancement (though the process is obtuse), you can be hired as a recent graduate without previous work experience, and the company is growing quickly.

Cons

You are treated like an untrustworthy factory worker-forced to adhere to strict working hours without exception though you are a salary employee (actually tracked down to the second to make sure you are in the building for 9 hours), no remote work under any circumstances (unless it's in their interest for you to take a late meeting and not be compensated), no flexibility, and no work life balance. The mood in the office is hostile between management and employees and very bad between HR and employees. HR has no power since all decisions come from the management in China and HR acts as a mouth-piece for the wishes of the executives. There is very high turnover and new employees always reach a predictable point after being hired where they feel tricked as they learn about the unachievable goals, total lack of transparency, and disregard for life balance. Additionally, training is either completely lacking or insufficient and managers, on the whole, lack interpersonal skills and also have no power since every decision comes from the very top. Even if they wanted to help you, they can't because there are literally no decisions which can be made without approval from China.
