Pros

It used to be a great company to work for, used to have some phenomenal nurses until they quit, driven into the ground by poor management and poor pay.

Cons

Lack of transparency from upper management. Constant turnover from management to nurses to basically all staff. Low staff morale. Poor reputation in the community. Reputation that Gentiva will take the bottom of the barrel patients and drive staff into the ground. Known antics of encouraging staff to take and keep patients that are not eligible for hospice. If you bring up concerns regarding patient eligibility or staff behavior, they will retaliate.

Pros

Working with patients and families

Cons

Everything else. Inadaquate training and support. Unfair/uneven business territory alignments. Do not follow Medicare guidelines for spending on accounts- goes far under which leads to accounts picking other companies who spend more Not willing to supply patients with needed supplies due to costs. Not providing enough timely care. Work life balance is a joke- expected to work nights, weekends and take your phone on vacation. Mileage reimbursement is AWFUL and there's a lot of driving. Fleet program is awful

Aggressive Senior management

Pros

401K match, fair PTO, no weekend duties, 2 week severance

Cons

Its all about money and numbers and not patient care. Just because your hired doesn't mean you will keep your job. Senior management wants to hire as much PRN as possible and reduce staff until patients will not get the services they deserve. No extra supplies. Management has quick answers but are not authentic. They will cut you down in front of your co workers saying they are trying to teach everyone a lesson. That is not how to treat professionals. No holiday party, no lunches, no snacks, just nothing extra. Management does not learn nor budge with their demands, just do things over and over again and get the same or worse results. In summary a very poor culture of survival not thriving.
