Great tuition benefits and collegial culture. Wonderful work life balance. School is in a convenient location for most of DC/VA so transportation and dining options are top notch. Great professional development opportunities.

Cons

GW is plagued with group think and people who have "always done it this way" and are resistant to change. If you are younger and bring up an innovative idea, it will get shut down. They do not do enough benchmarking with peer institutions to think of other ways to operate. Many VPs are entitled and incompetent and bring nothing to the table. Their front line staff do all of the work.

The salary seemed reasonable and benefits were okay. If you are using the tuition assistance then it seemed worthwhile but many people seemed to leave right after they finished their degrees. Student Affairs and professors seemed passionate about what they did.

Cons

As a whole, GW felt inefficient and disorganized. Many employees seemed like they worked very little and were just biding their time. It would take months for things to get completed and I felt like I was always having to hassle people to follow through on things. There was also poor communication which made for an unpleasant atmosphere and general confusion.
