      Great people, unwieldy bureaucracy

      Pros

      Great benefits, casual workplace (this varies - some areas are certainly more formal/structured than others), positive energy, dynamic work.

      Cons

      Massive, massive, massive bureaucracy. Poor salaries, and often little room for upward mobility.

      Treats lecturers fairly, but the pay is low

      Pros

      GWU has a fair policy for adjunct professors to allows them great latitude in their approach. The students are interested and motivated. And it is in the heart of the city so there are extensive opportunities for real-life examples and experiences to incorporate in lectures and to motivate students.

      Cons

      The pay is too low to ensure quality and stability in its teaching staff.

      Pros

      It used to be tuition assistance benefit, though I have heard that this program has been gutted to be somewhat effective. If your passion is higher education it is worth a look.

      Cons

      Employees are not treated well, nor are they developed or utilized to hone in new talent. Senior management has interest in preserving individual kingdoms more than creating a successful environment for students and employees.
