Pros

Benefits are not the worst but they are definitely falling behind in compensation. Don't take a low paying job here if you don't plan to use your TAP benefits.

Cons

Merit increase is very low around 3 percent. Therefore it is easier to leave to get a raise elsewhere. A lot of the new job postings conveniently leave out details on your actual responsibilities

Pros

A wonderful university that tries to live up to the Jesuit values of social justice and care for the whole person. A beautiful campus with some amazing faculty and staff who are dedicated to the university and its mission and love students.

Cons

There is as of today no anti-bullying policy, so depending on one's office or supervisor, it is possible to be bullied with impunity. This happens to junior faculty or to staff supervised by faculty / other staff. University leadership cares for students (particularly undergrads) and tenured faculty. Other employees are treated as completely expendable.

Pros

You might cross paths with some genuine people or not. The campus is beautiful and the neighborhood.

Cons

low morale, low pay, no growth unless you are favored by the higher up. The benefits sucks unless you elect the most expensive. The turnover of the department is like a revolving door. If you commute to work it's crazy for parking/parking ticket to say the least, getting into Georgetown, and the traffic is gridlock almost every day.
