Pros
There are some very smart people across the company. If you can find a way to learn from them, that’s the best part of working at Geosyntec. The pay is generally lowball but the benefits are good.
Cons
The office culture is very toxic, with a clear divide between senior and junior staff. The latter always get the short end of the stick. You will work 60-70 hours per week, and will only get paid for 40 hours (no thank you’s, no raises even remotely close to the value of that time). The office I left is chronically understaffed and also extremely top heavy. The majority of hires were senior members of the staff, creating an even larger strain on junior members. This also stifles advancement, which is more based on “time served” than on skills or professional milestones. Management listens to concerns but doesn’t seem to actually hear them until you’ve got one foot out the door.
