If you've ever seen any movie with a corrupt and crooked manager or boss character in it, don't be shocked to know that is the Giant Foods experience. Every day the people I've worked with I've watched be overworked and overstretched of what their jobs should even entail just so the managers can save a quick buck not hiring someone to actually handle it like they should. Maybe it's just me, but I don't think the workers who already freeze or get burnt all day outside collecting carts shouldn't also be held responsible for cleaning the glass windows in the Dairy department for all the Milk displays? That just seems like something they should use a Janitor for, or maybe even Dairy themselves to handle? But alas apparently not according to management. Like every other corporation raises stay stagnant too, but hey they'll throw you a pizza party woohoo (totally not gonna effect your paychecks later). They absolutely love it when some big charity comes around cause that just means they get to dodge taxes this year, always remember folks, when a store asks you if you'd like to make a donation at checkout, they're not taking your donation like you're thinking, you're doing it out of the kindness of your heart, but to them, that donation still goes to whatever charity they chose, and it's all under their name, to give them a tax break, that's why they do it. If there was ever a Scrooge of an overly corporate retail store, it'd definitely be Giant Food. They'll treat the customers like Golden Gods, while Overworking their own employees with no extra pay to compensate, until they either break, quit, or give them an excuse to fire them. Giant Food doesn't care if you're good at your job, they only care about how many other jobs they can squeeze out of ya while you're still trying to take care of the one you signed up for, and even if you do great on everything they asked of ya, there is no reward, you just get more to do after that shouldn't be your duty, and you'll sit there hoping maybe just maybe they'll give me a raise for all this extra work? But no... It Never comes, because the truth is about Giant, the moment you walk through those doors, you're not a customer, you're a walking wallet they'd love to bleed dry, and you're not an employee, you're a Cog that better fit in every slot of this machine... Will they at least give ya some oil for this machine? Pffff You wish, use your blood, sweat, and tears instead. I've used all 3 working at this job, I've bled, I've cried, and absolutely have they worked me into a sweat, and it don't get any easier, and the paychecks don't get any prettier for it all. You will be exploited, you will not be paid your worth, and you're just another cog that better work or be replaced, that's you are here, at Giant Food.
