Pros

The stocking work itself is fine, usually. The biggest problem is some nights are boring when there isn't much to do, but other than that it's never that hard and it's nice being able to listen to music while you work (until the store opens). You do make $1 more per hour than the day team does. My coworkers are nice.

Cons

After working here for a while you'll realize $1 extra is NOT enough to be worth completely messing up your entire life in order to have the sleep schedule this job requires. If you think you'll be fine because you're a night owl, keep in mind it's not a matter of staying up late - take the wake and sleep times of the average person, invert AM and PM, and that will be your approximate sleep schedule. The night becomes your morning, you only see sunlight in the few hours before you go to sleep. It's been disastrous for my mental health, made it impossible to have a social life, or even really do anything outside of work because even on my days off I'm awake during the times when nobody else is and when everything is closed. Also, since the night team is so small, you'll likely end up working 6 days a week for up to 48 hours even if you've asked for less. And when they need to ask you to come in a certain night that wasn't written on the schedule, get ready for the phone to ring when you're trying to sleep. Benefits are nonexistent. You apparently get a 10% discount on store brand items and that's about it (I say apparently because they never gave me my employee discount card so I still pay full price). You don't get extra pay for working on holidays until you've been there a year, and they will deliberately schedule only newer employees to work holidays in order to save money (very subtle).
