Pros

Great health benefits, although it takes new hires longer to receive them with the new contract. Pay is OK, but not great.

Cons

Strict corporate work schedules with not much flexibility as department manager. A lot of work hours and saturdays are a must.

Pros

Very easy to get time off, easy to get part time hours around course work.

Cons

Incompetence, lack of education, and lack of motivation run rampant.

Pros

Good Health benefits 50%subsidized by company. 401k company match. Paid time off earned for length of service. Investment in technology to make shopping trips easier.

Cons

Very little work/life balance for salaried staff. Store manager's are expected to work 12hr shifts, 5 to 6 days a week. Assistant store manager's are expected to work 10hr shifts, 5 to 6 days a week while being paid a salary based on 40hrs a week. There are advancement opportunities but most corporate jobs are now based out of Quincy, MA so unless you're in that area you're pretty much stuck on the store level.
