Thank you for your years of service. And thank you for noting our relaxed work environment. We're sorry to hear about your perception of "no team work." It takes "team members" to create "teamwork." You mention "back stabbing." That is generally a result of one "bad actor" on a team, not reflective of an entire team. Your comment regarding "high turnover" is more anecdotal to support your viewpoint. In reality, turnover is extremely low in Purchasing and companywide as well. The average tenure companywide is over 5 years.

Pros

Some of the people are pleasant to work with.

Cons

Ownership and management are horrible and unprofessional, The VP of HR is always in favor of the owners regardless of labor laws. The Gabbays have a my way or the highway mentality.

Your years of service to the company are appreciated. It’s clear you must have had a positive experience for years to keep working at Gibson, year after year. And it’s even clearer that something must have gone wrong for you to become disgruntled and make derogatory remarks about the company. Regarding your comments about the owners and management--Owners of the company have the ability and responsibility to run a successful business. Management has the responsibility to manage the functional areas of operation, effectively and efficiently. Everyone strives to do their best for the company. Employers are held to a higher standard in California and we operate within California Labor Law and take pride in operating ethically. Your review reflects a disgruntled employee point of view and isn’t helpful in a “public forum” that is meant to be informative to others looking for work. Accordingly, your negative comments are baseless and unfounded. That should be taken in consideration when reading this review.

Thank you for your review on Glassdoor. It is helpful for others. We're glad you learned something while you were with us. And thank you acknowledging your co-workers and management. Career advancement is primarily driven by an individual for the most part. However, many factors may come into play that determine "career advancement" -- for example, opportunities available at any given time, an individuals skillset and readiness for career advancement, etc. We appreciate your feedback, thank you.
