Pros

If you enjoy the messy office and crazy micro-management

Cons

The employer does not empower people. The claim people is their asset but in reality, people are there for them to dispose. All decisions are made by 3 moody brothers who respect nobody but their family member. Be careful with your colleagues there. Company has culture of backstabbing by peers. Gossipping others to the brothers are way of surviving, even a clean lady can be your worst enemy. Workload is unevenly distributed and team work is only a slogan.

Pros

There are none except for a handful of nice coworkers

Cons

Nepotism and incompetence is running rampant. Cheap products made by the lowest bidder.

We received your review and noted you made your review "anonymous" probably due to the fact that you are a current employee. Fair enough. Many reviews note a positive experience with co-workers. Gibson Homewares being a family-owned and operated business is fair game for claims of nepotism. That said, as the next generation of family enters into the company business, from my experience, they are ALL very competent at what they do. They are the company leaders of the future. It makes sense. The company is not putting anyone into a role they cannot do, that would be detrimental to the business. Gibson Homewares makes our products is many different countries, usually in the country where the materials are indigenous for that product. Buy for less, sell for more, that's one way to do business. That business model is still valid. Gibson does promote from within, however that process and timeline varies among individuals. The terms used in your review "worthless people" and "harassment" are indicative of your general dissatisfaction overall.

Pros

Company has a large portfolio of products to sell.

Cons

Where can I start... -Toxic Work Environment(which is fostered by the owners) -Zero respect for employees from the owners -Antiquated systems-no clear, accurate reporting to analyze business sales/inventory -Owners only focus on top 2-3 retailers and letting others shipping performance be what it is -Management heirarchy is not followed or respected which adds to the toxic environment at every level. The only person/opinion that counts is that of the 3 brothers. Since that is the case, they should not bring people in with position titles. -HR is completely ineffective. Only a mouthpiece for the owners. Pays lipservice to all but does NOTHING to improve the culture. Guess that's because that's how the owners want it.
