Pros

The people at Gigster are really driven to achieve the company's vision of "writing the world's software," and it shows. On top of that, they're smart, fun to work with, and fun to be around.

Cons

We haven't always done a good job focusing our product development efforts- it's getting better, but we need to keep on top of this.

Empowering knowledge workers

Pros

It's incredible to be surrounded by smart people in a growth mindset everyday, looking at how we can make things a little better today than they were yesterday. There is lots of space for thinking big and taking calculated risks. Gigster's internal design team is working to solve complex problems collaboratively, shaping products, tools, and frameworks that support beneficial experiences for customers, our global network, and internal teams. One of the most exciting reasons to come in every day is the chance to build tools that help empower freelance knowledge workers to do their best work wherever they are in the world, while supporting our enterprise clients' custom software needs. Designers at Gigster HQ have a chance to work on everything from user research to brand design to UI design to shipping production code + see lots of users around the world engage with what we make. Challenge and impact are two of the most important things to have as a professional and Gigster provides those opportunities framed in a distinct vision for the future of software development.

Cons

Tendency to spend a little too much time on (admittedly) nice things today that won't necessarily contribute to long term company success.

Pros

We're working on big and important problems at Gigster. Many people who work here have been freelancers or entrepreneurs in the past, so people are passionate about the mission of the company. In addition, everyone here is really talented and the culture is very supportive.

Cons

We're a scrappy startup, so work can sometimes be pretty intense
