Great projects, tough to balance

Pros

Glumac has a great variety of projects in all the offices. Young engineers are given the opportunity to grow and learn at a very fast rate due to a high level of responsibility available to those that show interest. I would say this is a con as well as the younger engineers get thrown into roles they are too green for, such as project management. The BIM and company design standards are very good compared to most engineering firms. A lot of talented, smart engineers.

Cons

Work/Life balance is difficult when juggling multipe large scale projects. An issue in most offices is staffing. There is a somewhat large turnover, so disciplines are often not staffed adequately, leading to employee burn out. Those there may not always have a lot of experience with the type of building being designed, leading to change orders and RFIs.
