Pros

The culture has always been special, and despite my years as a team member and the exponential growth the team has undergone, it still is. That is no accident, the leaders and the team continue to double down on what works, whilst iterating what doesn't, to keep the culture strong and alive. Work-life balance is treated with real respect here, our leaders male and female leave the office to attend children's activities, go to the gym, etc. And working from home or taking time out for vacation is accepted and encouraged. There has always been open and two-way communication between the team and the leaders and as we grow, if anything it is more encouraged and multiple avenues are available to the team to ensure that the leaders are in the loop and can make decisions in the best interest of the team.

Cons

There are high standards here. Of professionalism, behavior, ideas and execution. For some who prefer a looser environment, this is a con. Also, some people are (based on previous reviews) are calling these high standards K1's decisions, which isn't the case.

Hey there, thanks for your contributions and taking the time to write a review! So glad to hear you love our culture and that you see the efforts we make to keep the culture strong. I want to remind you to use those two-way communication tools to let us know when you see opportunities for improvement, when you tell us where we are falling short we have the opportunity to dig in. Thanks again for taking the time to write us a review!

Pros

- Colleagues were good for the most part - Potential to earn more money compared against similar roles (however not sure about current situation at the company, most likely changed/shifted after K1 partnership)

Cons

- Alpha, 'boys club' sales culture (even with the girls), if you weren't in the 'in' group then it becomes blatantly aware that you'll be overlooked for various duties and given that there's a disconnect between direct managers and C-level high ups, it's doubtful that there'll be much change even after direct appeals - Complete customer manipulation during sales process (pricing changes relative to customers; the pricebook they have is manipulated to the Nth degree) and sometimes even beyond into free usage - Proper, consultative sales training is either impractical or non-existent. - Following acquisition by K1, GoCanvas shifted focus to micro-management of individuals to ensure targets set by K1 are continuously met (from reading other reviews on here, it seems this sentiment is shared across the board), direct quote from a manager "I don't care if I micro-manage you, I'm putting money in your pocket in the end anyway." (This could be a PRO for you if you're driven by that kind of thing)

Hey there, thanks for taking the time to share your candid feedback, we appreciate and grow from hearing your experience and we are sorry to hear you feel this way. We agree that the quality of sales leadership and training is important. As such, we have worked with sales leaders to tweak their schedules to allow them to spend 80% of their time coaching the sales reps on the floor, and our sales trainer is also available on the floor to help reps 2-3 day a week. We also launched our second Sales Training program this month, after the great feedback we got about the Sales Bootcamp earlier this year. Regarding pricing, you are correct there are occasions that we offer free plans to non-profits that our team members sponsor, and to single-user accounts. Supporting very-small businesses and non-profits doing benevolent work has always been important to us at GoCanvas. Thanks again for taking the time to share your feedback.

Pros

1. You get to work with smart, phone people in an awesome office with free snacks 2. The product is very customizable and can service a ton of different verticals. 3. Pretty cool perks 4. WAS a cool company to work for most of my time there

Cons

1. Things have gone downhill RAPIDLY after the $151 investment/acquisition by K1. Marketing spend and lead flow has been cut by over 50%, lots of reps and leadership leaving, and some backstabbing occurs 2. Will not accept 2 week notice to leave and therefore will not pay out any earned commissions or 2 weeks. They will make you leave the day after you give notice. 3. Lack of transparency from upper management and leadership.

Hey there, thanks for taking the time to share your experience. We are sorry to hear that the end of your tenure wasn't as great as it was in the beginning. I want to reassure you that we always pay out commission earned. So please check your account when your commission is due, and be sure to reach out to us if you have any questions at all regarding your final check. We agree that there has been a lot of changes this year since K1 has partnered with us, we feel that the changes are for the better, such as our increased investment in our team - we launched a Sales Training program and a Leadership Development program. We hope your next role is better aligned with you and wish you all the best in all your future endeavors.
