Pros

Good pay Good brand and name recognition Great company for those who enjoy networking and playing politics

Cons

Culture - Antiquated culture. Mentors are more about learning the culture and getting promotions than learning to do your job well. Strategic vision from the top down is minimal. Everyone is tactic-oriented but rarely understand or see the big picture. Overly Detailed/Data Driven - A culture that rewards trivial knowledge Work Life Balance is Lip Service - Leaving at 5pm means you are a slacker Diversity is non-existent especially in leadership Internal Focus - Efforts have been made to bring outsiders into the company but the culture is so traditional and anti-progressive, progressive ideas meet far too much resistance to gain traction. Overly data-driven - Over obsession with data and information delays decision making.

Pros

Not much besides pay is decent. I’m not in Akron and not going to give my site.

Cons

Bad procurement leadership that doesn’t represent GY’s values, commitment to integrity, and business conduct. Stressful and hostile work environment. Leader’s management of the team is chaotic, and she is constantly changing expectations. She leads by fear and intimidation. She does not take personal responsibility for any shortcomings or mistakes she makes; however, she is very quick to point out the mistakes of her team and the mistakes of the organizations her team supports. She pits her own team against each other and talks about her team to others behind their backs. She undermines the managers that report to her by going around them giving directions to their subordinates that are opposite of the directions giving by the managers without discussions or understanding why the managers gave such instructions. She takes over every meeting and she doesn’t listen or give employees time to explain situations. She has no empathy for teammates or other’s personal lives and well being.
