Disorganized, Impersonal Leadership and Employee Burnout

Pros

I loved my immediate team. They're great people and care for each other a lot. They bring an energy that I love and that I miss a lot.

Cons

Ever since GovCIO was acquired by private equity and then had its merger with Salient CRGT, the culture has changed immensely. Growth has happened too quickly, and employees have fallen between the cracks along the way and have been stretched thin to meet demand — it's growth by any means necessary. Toward the end of my time at GovCIO, I felt burnt out mentally and creatively. Extra work fell on my team when leadership didn't effectively plan sustainable, long-term growth plans that kept employee wellbeing in mind. It's a shame, because when I started at GovCIO when it was smaller, it was a much healthier environment. There was more effective inner- and inter-department synergy, and now all of that has evaporated. Everyone I talked to across my team felt wrung dry, resentful, and under-appreciated. GovCIO wants to grow, but it can't leave its people behind if it wants to achieve those goals. It's a shame that it's gotten to his point, but unfortunately this is a reality that comes when private equity steps into the picture.

Pros

Company was really good but after merger even health benefits are pathetic.

Cons

You need to work for 12 hours without getting compensated. No raise no bonuses. Work from home means be available 24/7. You are expected to work on weekends too.

Pros

Interesting Projects and talented colleagues

Cons

The company does not value its employees at all. There are no regular check-ins to see how employees are doing or to offer support. Instead, when things inevitably go wrong, management is quick to lash out and place blame rather than addressing the root of the problem. Leadership constantly brags about how much revenue the company generates, yet there's no effort to reward employees with salary increases or bonuses. It's disheartening to work hard and see no financial recognition for your efforts. To make matters worse, there's absolutely no budget for training or professional development. You're expected to grow and adapt on your own time, with no investment from the company in your skills or future. Overall, it feels like the company only cares about profits, not people. I wouldn't recommend working here if you're looking for a place that values its employees.
