Pros

It’s a paycheck with decent benefits

Cons

Upper management is full of horse excrement with this value monetization. You’re a Distributor. Make more on volume versus margin. Mid-level management doesn’t pull their weight. Measures you on bs metrics versus goal attainment. They manipulate numbers and account lists.

Pros

Employee Discount on Grainger.com, can't think of any other Pro.

Cons

One of the most unorganized, unprofitable, non-customer centric, and zero work life balance companies I've ever worked for. It has become an organization so focused on the bottom line, that they've changed our comp plan 3 times in 1 year, to the detriment of the sales rep. Was promised a guaranteed total comp if met goal, was over goal in year 1 and made LESS than they guaranteed because of new comp plan. It is a win for the company, not sales. They have also become more focused on being lean, which has in turn meant less service to the customer. Also, since the implementation of Salesforce.com management is way more concerned with micromanagement of the metrics - which are entered daily by the rep and the amount required is way out of hand - and are less concerned with sales. Worst mistake ever by coming to this company.

Pros

Other good people trying to do a good job.

Cons

Biggest career fail EVER by quitting a stable, wonderful job to take a chance on what I perceived was a successful Fortune 500 co. Complete train wreck on every level. Company completely out of touch by jacking up margins on embarrassing levels. My local City accts would just laugh at me for trying sell Grainger.
